Polycarbonate (PC) is also known as PC plastic. It is a high molecular polymer containing carbonate group in the molecular chain (aromatic polycarbonate has been industrialized). Due to the particularity of polycarbonate structure, it has become the fastest growing general engineering plastic among the five engineering plastics.It is a strong and tough thermoplastic resin with excellent comprehensive mechanical, thermal and electrical properties.
The impact strength reaches 44kj /m2 and the tensile strength is >60MPa.It has good heat resistance and can be used for a long time at -60~120ºC.Its melt viscosity is much higher than that of general thermoplastic.
Polycarbonate has excellent electrical properties. Its volume resistivity and dielectric constant are equivalent to those of polyester film, which are 5×1013Ω·m and 2.9 (106 Hz).
It also with good light transmittance, the light transmittance is 85% ~ 90%.Its water absorption is low, only 0.16%.Excellent weather resistance;Good colorability;The flame resistance complies with the standards of 94 VL and 94 V-2 of UL specifications. It is a self extinguishing resin.
Polycarbonate has excellent oil resistance. After soaking in natural gas for 3 months or in lubricating oil at 125 ºC for 3 months, the product size and quality basically remain unchanged.
